Spring Time Wreath!!!

I have gone wreath crazy!!!  Making one for pretty much everyone; my mom, sister, grandmas and a few for myself.  So why not keep going??  This time I made one for my other grandma in IA.  She’s a funny little lady, and I love her!  I called her one day to let her know I wanted to make her a Spring wreath and she was so ‘tickled’ (she uses that word a lot).  I asked her what her favorite thing about Spring was and she said butterflies and flowers; easy enough to incorporate into a wreath.  Then I asked her what her favorite color was and she said green….and brown!  Oh my goodness…I wasn’t sure what I was going to do….  She made it clear she doesn’t like mixing colors, the florist in her town even knows not to mix colors and only do bouquets of different hues:)  Gotta love her!!!  But then I went to JoAnn Fabrics and the wheels started to turn…and I found some fabric that went really well together and Viola!!

I’ve got to say I’m pretty proud of myself and I think it’s one of my best!!  And here’s how to make your own:

What you’ll need:

–Foam Wreath (this time I used a smaller and flat wreath)

–Fabric (I picked one patterned, a tweed colored fabric and a sheer color–1/2 a yard for each just in case))

–Pins, needle, thread

–Scissors

–Hot Glue Gun

–Other items to pretty it up!

Step 1:

Cut the fabric you want to use as your base and cut 2″ strips.

Step 2:

Pin one end to the wreath and start wrapping.  I overlapped the end of one section and the beginning of the next to save on pins.  Keep going until the whole wreath is covered.

Step 3:

Make flowers and decorate!!!  With this wreath, I made both fabric flowers and felt flowers from these tutorials:

**I play around with the flowers and placement until I like what I see.  I use pins to place the flowers just in case I don’t like what I do:)

Happy Wreath Making!!!!
